“Weaving Connection” is a project of Habele, a 501c3 nonprofit established by former Peace Corps Volunteers who served in Micronesia. WeavingConnections aims to document the materials and context of the distinctive back-strap loom weaving practiced in the western Caroline islands and migrants from these Micronesian islands.

Initial support for this project came from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs. Subsequent support has come from individual donors and the Library of Congress.
